HP THERMAL INKJET TECHNOLOGY
Thermal inkjet printers use heat to generate vapor bubbles, ejecting small drops of ink through nozzles and placing them precisely on a surface to form text or images. Its advantages are small drop sizes, high printhead operating frequency, excellent system reliability and highly controlled ink drop placement. Integrated electronics mean fewer electrical connections, faster operation and higher color resolution. Originally designed for desktop printers, thermal inkjet is designed to be inexpensive, clean, quiet and very easy to use.
A NEW KIND OF INKJET FOR YOUR PACKAGE CODING NEEDS
For years, you’ve had to deal with coding systems that have been anything but hasslefree. You’ve endured messy ink spills, clogged heads, maintenance and downtime delays, and expensive repairs. With so many other things to think about on a packaging line, wouldn’t it be great if package coding solutions were simpler?
PRISM Incorporated’s solutions coupled with HP’s world-class thermal inkjet technology (TIJ) deliver low-cost, clean, high-resolution printing to the package coding industry. JET PACK™ series coding systems enable easier production of higher-quality product and logistics information, increasing your flexibility and productivity. PRISM Incorporated is the logical choice for an enterprise seeking
high-quality, cost-effective products for its package coding needs.
PRINTHEAD AND INK—ALL IN ONE PACKAGE
Not all printing technologies are equal. HP’s injket cartridges contain more than specially formulated inks. They house the printhead itself—an integrated circuit precisely routing signals that create thousands of vapor blasts per second, pushing out up to 12,000 droplets of ink from each of the 300 ink nozzles. This enables precise dot placement that delivers machine-readable bar codes, crisp images, and reliable outputs. Since JETPACK™ systems that feature HP TIJ
technology use recyclable ink cartridges rather than permanent, fixed printheads and separate ink supplies, downtime is kept to a minimum because you get a brand-new printhead with every cartridge replacement. In addition, HP inks contain no volatile solvents and they don’t produce harmful fumes, so a specially trained service technician is not necessary to change a cartridge. Your production line is back in operation quickly.
THE BENEFITS OF HP TIJ TECHNOLOGY
HP TIJ technology offers production-line advantages that match your production priorities—and contribute to your company’s success and profitability. PRISM’s TIJenabled coding systems use modular components that are easy to operate and service. The JET PACK™ series printheads are far less expensive than permanent ones, which reduces initial capital cost and provides for consistent low-cost maintenance, which, in turn, reduces unplanned downtime.
With modular designs, PRISM’s TIJ-enabled coding machines can be set up quickly to support a wide variety of jobs. Also, these machines typically take up less space than other products, making them a less-intrusive presence on the production floor. In addition, HP TIJ technology uses environmentally friendly inks, which contributes to a healthier workplace environment and lowers costs because of reduced disposal costs and air-venting requirements. Because ink is contained
in the printhead, you don’t have to worry about messy spills or ink on product, hands, or the line.
When you choose PRISM and HP TIJ technology, you choose low maintenance, minimal
upkeep, and consistently reliable, clean results.
HP TIJ TECHNOLOGY ADVANTAGES
Lower cost of ownership: JET PACK™ coding machines do not contain expensive and permanent printheads, keeping capital equipment costs low. Machine maintenance consists of simply snapping in a new cartridge when ink runs out; you get the benefits of a brand-new printhead every time you replace a cartridge. Thermal drop-on-demand technology enables low-cost, efficient ink usage.
Easy to use: Line operators need no special training to operate and maintain TIJ-enabled coding machines. Print cartridges simply snap in and out in seconds for easy replacement. Equipment requires no warm-up cycle and no downtime.
Fast: TIJ supports typical print speeds of up to 250 feet per minute at 300 x 600 dpi. Faster speeds can be attained at lower print resolution.
Reliable: HP TIJ technology is less sensitive to air bubbles in the firing chamber than other printing technologies. It avoids the print quality problems/delays that can be caused by trapped air.
Flexible: HP TIJ technology supports a wide variety of substrates and print resolution options, increasing your range of choice.
High quality: HP TIJ technology places ink with a high degree of accuracy to produce superb image and text quality as well as machine-readable 2D and linear barcodes.
Environmentally safe: HP inks contain no volatile solvents and produce no harmful fumes, protecting employee health and contributing to a clean workplace environment. |
